While FBI: Most Wanted has ended, it doesn’t mean that we can’t hear from the characters now and then. The characters are still getting on with their jobs, and FBI season 8 opens the door for some updates.
In fact, we could see one of the characters appear in FBI season 8 if the stars align. It’s something that Mike Weiss would like to see happen, and there are plenty of ways to make it possible. Yes, we’re talking all about the return of Agent Nina Chase.

FBI wants to answer an FBI: Most Wanted question
Considering the shows are all in the same universe and have had plenty of crossover moments, it’s not surprising to hear that Weiss was up to date on a question raised in FBI: Most Wanted. There was the question of whether Nina and Scola should get married or not, and that’s something Weiss wants to address in FBI season 8, according to TVLine.
There are a lot of ways relationships can form now. Scola and Nina started hooking up, but the ended up breaking up when Maggie returned to her work full-time. Then Nina returned with the news that she was pregnant, and Scola wanted to be a part of his baby’s life. Well, that’s led to the two of them getting back together and even living together, so naturally the discussion of marriage has come up.
However, that’s not the only way Weiss would like to see Nina back on the mothership series, which is where her character was first introduced.

Weiss wants to see more of the fugitive recovery specialist side of Nina
We know that Nina is a fugitive recovery specialist, but the two shows she’s been in has never had the opportunity to fully explore that. FBI season 8 could offer an opportunity for that, as long as schedules align. After all, Shantel VanSanten was part of the FBI: Most Wanted cast when that show was canceled, which could have meant she looked at other projects rather than leaving the door open for a return to FBI.
“We also want to see Nina as the badass, fugitive recovery specialist that she is, helping us out a bit here and there.”
Of course, to see Nina return to FBI, it would mean that she’d likely have to leave the Fugitive Task Force. Or it would mean she’d need a lending hand while taking time out of the Fugitive Task Force. Either way, at least we could get some updates about how the team is doing under Sheryl Barnes’s leadership.
FBI season 8 premieres on Monday, Oct. 13 at 9/8c on CBS.
