With the way Will Trent season 3 ended, there is no doubt that we’re worried. Two lives were left on the line, and the latest news of Kevin Daniels being upped to series regular in Will Trent season 4 has us concerned about one character in particular.

Deadline shared that we’ll get to see more of Detective Wilks in the fourth season of the series. It’s long overdue, but the news comes with concern. After all, we know the life of another police officer was on the line, and this could have opened the door for more Wilks.

Is Ormewood going to die in Will Trent season 4?

The end of Will Trent season 3 left us with two lives on the line. As Amanda was hooked up to machines in a hospital with Will by her side, Ormewood collapsed in front of Nico due to his brain tumor. With the news of Daniels being upped to series regular, we’re now left worried about what it means for Ormewood.

After all, Wilks and Ormewood are both detectives in the APD. If Daniels is suddenly upped to series regular, it would suggest that we’re not going to see as much of Ormewood as before. Is this a sign that we’re going to lose him permanently?

Nico would have had a lot to deal with as she tried to figure out how to help Ormewood. It’s possible that first responders didn’t get to him in time. After all, he’d almost seemed like he was just accepting of his fate with the brain tumor. If Ormewood dies, then Angie will need a new partner, and it makes sense for it to be Wilks, who is a calming force for her.

This could be a sign Ormewood gets a new role in Will Trent

Alternatively, collapsing could lead to him getting the help he needs rather than trying to hide the fact that he has a brain tumor. Instead of dying, Ormewood could just find that he needs to take time off work. Maybe he’s forced to due to the treatments that he will need.

This still opens the door for Angie to need a new partner, but it’s not as upsetting or as drastic as the first option. There is hope that Ormewood could return in the future, but we could also see him find a new role to play in the series.

Will Trent season 4 is set to premiere in 2026 on ABC.
