NBC left Grosse Pointe Garden Society on the bubble in May 2025 after the mass cancellations. There was hope that it would move to Peacock, and we certainly needed it with the way the season ended on a cliffhanger.
Well, there is now some devastating news. Peacock isn’t moving forward with the series, and it means that Grosse Pointe Garden Society is canceled.

Grosse Pointe Garden Society season 2 isn’t going to happen
Deadline shared the terrible news, saying that Peacock has ultimately decided not to go ahead with a renewal. It doesn’t sound like the series is being shopped around anywhere else, and that’s potentially because it’s getting too late into the year for that to happen. Cast options will likely be coming up soon, if not already.
So, Grosse Pointe Garden Society season 2 isn’t going to happen. We’re now left with multiple questions to answer as the series left us on a major cliffhanger. There was another mystery, as the four “murderers” didn’t end up getting caught at the end of the first season.

Why has Peacock decided not to renew Grosse Pointe Garden Society?
At the end of the day, it all came down to viewership. The series performed badly on Sunday nights following Suits: LA, and while it did pick up slightly with the move to Fridays, it wasn’t enough for NBC to renew the show. When we initially heard that Grosse Pointe wasn’t going to be renewed but was in negotiations to move to Peacock, that wasn’t all too surprising considering the linear ratings.
However, the ratings on Peacock didn’t pick up in the way that the streamer would have liked. This is despite the series costing less than a normal Peacock original. It’s just a price that the streamer cannot justify at this point.

Could another streamer save the series?
What about another network? As mentioned, it doesn’t sound like the series is being shopped around further. There was a lot put into the negotiations with Peacock, and the clock has likely ran down on cast options.
On top of that, Peacock didn’t see the ratings it needed. If this streamer didn’t, then other streamers will likely be concerned about it. There could also be concerns about international ratings for some of the networks, such as Netflix and Prime Video, which would put them off.
So, now we’ll have to make up stories for how we think it could have gone for the characters and where Alice was in the end.
Grosse Pointe Garden Society is available to stream on Peacock.
