One of the reasons why I don’t want to see Morgan and Karadec end up together is because it will ruin what we have now in High Potential. We get to see just how they’re a lot like siblings, and the promo for High Potential season 1, episode 12 continues that focus.
Morgan and Karadec clearly care about each other. They are polar opposites, but Morgan is worming her way into Karadec’s heart. Likewise, she cares about him, but the work is always going to come first. Sometimes, having his back is the work, and we see that in the promo for the new episode.
Meet Karadec’s former partner in High Potential season 1, episode 12
We’ll see Major Crimes and the FBI have to work together on a case in High Potential season 1, episode 12. This means that Karadec is coming face-to-face with someone from his past, his former partner.
Played by New Amsterdam’s Jocko Sims, Special Agent Oliver is someone who Karadec doesn’t like. They used to be partners, but it’s clear that something happened. They’re no longer friends, and they struggle to work together on this case. This is more than just a rivalry between different branches of law enforcement.
The FBI wants control over the case. Of course, there are times that they could just order that, but Karadec wants to work the case. He makes it clear that they can work together, but the FBI will need to hand over everything they have. This would suggest that the murder of the tech billionaire is one part of a bigger scheme.
The FBI profiler has the wrong profiler, as well. Morgan is seeing signs that rather than someone with a skill in tech, they’re dealing with someone who hates tech. That would make sense for a person who is killing billionaires who made their money from tech.
There are clear looks Morgan is giving Oliver and the other FBI agent to tell them that she is on Karadec’s side. She knows she’s smart, and she knows that she can see things they can’t. If you mess with Karadec, you’re also messing with her.
Ludo is back in High Potential
The synopsis tells us that Ludo is coming back into the story in High Potential season 1, episode 12. He’s been missing for a few episodes, leaving Morgan to deal with childcare issues herself.
Well, now that he’s back, he’s struggling with all the childcare needs. He’s overwhelmed by all the new duties.
Now I know this could go the route of showing that men are incapable of looking after their children, but I don’t think the show will (or should) do that. We need to see that parenting is overwhelming, and if you’re not used to everything that needs to be done, it gets overwhelming and stressful. Ludo gives us all a chance to see that it can all be manageable if you take a breath and figure out a plan.
Can Ludo do that? I hope so. He seems like a dumb character, but he’s probably capable and he is a good dad from what we’ve seen of him so far.
"The FBI joins the investigation into the murder of a controversial tech magnate, forcing Karadec to reunite with his former partner; Ludo becomes overwhelmed with his increasing childcare duties."
