One thing that Morgan hasn’t had since joining the LAPD as a consultant is formal training. It’s all about the change on High Potential season 2 episode 10.
This is actually something I noted as a problem between Morgan and Karadec. Time and time again, Morgan doesn’t follow protocol, and Karadec has just started to let her get away with it. It would normally lead to contaminated crime scenes, and that could affect cases when they go to trial. Yet, nobody has seemed to mention it at all.
That is until now — and it’s about time. Morgan will need to pass her tests if she wants to keep working with the LAPD.
Morgan is heading to the Training Academy on High Potential season 2 episode 10
Internal Affairs has received some reports about Morgan, which isn’t all that surprising. Of course, other departments are going to have a problem with Major Crimes suddenly performing so well. There is always way too much competition between the departments rather than a focus on solving crime.
Yet, the complaints have merit. There is a lot of focus on Morgan’s personality rather than on the fact that she can often contaminate crime scenes and questions the way evidence should be handled, but it’s something that helps her get some training.
Initially, Morgan laughs at the idea of going to the Training Academy, but then she realizes just how serious everyone is. If she doesn’t pass the Training Academy then she won’t be working with the LAPD any longer, and that’s going to cause problems for everyone. So, she needs to pass, and it’s not just a simple exam.

A case involving a parachuter dying in mid-air
As for the case of the week, Morgan and Karadec have one that involves a parachuter dying while in the air. I do have to question Morgan’s comments on how a guy can be fine in the air and dead on the ground, considering the accidents that can happen, but let’s overlook it — sometimes, Morgan doesn’t have much in the way of common sense.
While it’s clear that the parachute wasn’t the problem, Morgan wants to know how he could die in mid-air. Again, there are reasons for this, such as medical ones. It would be odd to rule them out in the field unless there is a clear sign as to why the parachuter died, and there doesn’t seem to be, so I’m curious as to why Major Crimes was called in right away.
The question is whether Morgan will be able to keep working on the case considering she has training to complete.
High Potential airs on Tuesdays at 9/8c on ABC and streams the following day on Hulu.
