When Karadec is late to a case, you know that something big has come up. That’s certainly the case on High Potential season 2 episode 11.
It looks like we may get ot meet Karadec’s ex-fiancee. There is a bigger story there than Karadec is telling, and Morgan has figured some of it out. This is a flame close to his heart, and it’s the only thing that makes sense when Karadec is late because he runs into a woman.
Karadec’s late because of a woman on High Potential season 2 episode 11
The promo makes it clear that Karadec is late because he runs into a woman. Played by This Is Us star Susan Kelechi Watson, Karadec calls her Lucia. And we know that is the name of his ex-fiancee. When we found out that Watson was going to guest star on the series, it seemed to make sense that it would be in this sort of role, as High Potential needs to deepen Karadec’s personal story.
What we know about the two is that Lucia left Karadec because he was too invested in his work. That’s something Morgan could completely understand, and we could understand why it would annoy a partner. It’s why Morgan and Karadec work so well. They both become obsessed with the cases that they work.
When a former esports champion is mysteriously murdered, both his gaming rival and a sushi chef are under suspicion; Karadec reconnects with a woman from his past.
However, the synopsis continues to just tell us that this woman is someone “from his past.” It’s likely because the synopsis came out well before the promo — and it may not have been clear how that promo would be cut — but it would be nice to just admit it at this point.
Morgan is back with the team on High Potential
During High Potential season 2 episode 10, Morgan found herself out of a job. Solomon decided not to take the recommendation from the training academy to keep her on, so Soto had to find another way around it. She used blackmail, and that’s sure to come up in the future.
For now, it means we get more of Morgan working with the team. While she is sure to spend the episode trying to work out why Karadec was late, she’ll also want to get to the bottom of the murder investigation.
A professional gamer is killed, and it looks like initially that it could be an accident. However, Major Crimes doesn’t get called in for an accident, and now a gaming rival and a sushi chef end up under suspicion.
