When the NCIS season 21 finale introduced the Lily storyline, it offered something supernatural and fun to solve throughout season 22. However, then NCIS season 22 dragged on the story with delivering barely any answers.
We’re now going into NCIS season 23 with just confirmation that Lily was someone who was there the night Parker’s mom died. That’s all we know, and it has made the whole ghostly storyline a pointless one that needs to be wrapped up already. There’s a chance to do that with the introduction of Parker’s sister.
Nancy Travis will join NCIS season 23
We know from conversations with Parker that he has multiple siblings, but none of them have been introduced yet. Harriet Parker is the only one to be named directly in NCIS season 20, so it’s not that surprising that she is the one to show up in NCIS season 23.
We should see other siblings appear. The NCIS season 22 finale ended with Parker walking in to find his dad murdered. That’s sure to bring the siblings in from out of town so that they can mourn, and some of them will want to join Parker in the investigation. Harriet is a Vice Admiral in the Navy, so it makes sense for her to come and do that.
Parker’s sister being in town could end a boring storyline
With the arrival of a sister always comes the memories of the past. We’re sure to see the two discuss things, and something that is sure to be on Parker’s mind is their mom’s death. After all, this has come up in recent episodes, as Parker has realized that Lily was there the night of the crash.
So, is it possible that this could lead to Parker and his sister talking about Lily? This could finally help to bring an end to the most boring storyline of NCIS season 22. It’s like the writers introduced it and then had no idea what to do with it, so just had to filter in small ideas now and then.
To be honest, Parker did try to fill in the gaps of his memory, but Roman wasn’t much use in that. It’s possible that Roman just doesn’t want to remember, but Harriet is likely to remember a lot more and be able to finish off the story. Bringing the emotional element to the story offers a chance to wrap up Lily in a meaningful way for Parker and saving the entire arc.
