Thursday nights are supposed to be Law & Order Night, so what’s going on with the NBC schedule tonight, Thursday, March 27. Not only is there not a new episode of either show, but there are no reruns either.
NBC has opted to put on a night of Suits: LA reruns tonight. This does make sense for the new NBC series. It’s not performing as hoped for in the linear ratings on Sundays, and the network wants to get more eyes on it. Why not use a break in the Law & Order schedule to do that?
As for Law & Order and SVU, the two shows are taking their usual scheduled breaks. NBC needs this to spread out the remaining episodes to get to May for finale season.
When will Law & Order and SVU return with new episodes?
This break is a short one. The two shows will be back to normal on Thursday, April 3. Things kick off with a new episode of Law & Order, and then the SVU team will be back straight after that.
Keep in mind that we do have a crossover event coming for the two shows. That will air on Thursday, April 17, and it will end up being a full Law & Order Thursday, as Law & Order: Organized Crime season 5 will get a special linear airing of its premiere episode.
What to expect when Law & Order season 24 returns?
Law & Order season 24, episode 17 will bring a horrific murder of a 12-year-old girl. Both the police and the lawyers will want to do everything they can to get to the bottom of the murder. That’s not easy to do when there is no clear motive.
This is going to haunt all of them. Baxter says what everyone is thinking in the promo. If they don’t find who did it and the case goes unsolved, it will haunt all of them forever. They’ll never be able to forget this one.
What to expect in Law & Order: SVU season 26, episode 17?
Meanwhile, SVU will return to that incident that haunts Carisi. Rollins is back, and she’s turning to Benson for some help. Carisi isn’t the same man he used to be, with part of him trapped in that convenience store. They need to find a way to win the case.
Benson has a case of her own to solve while Carisi goes on the witness stand. She has a rape survivor who doesn’t remember everything that happened to her. It’s not clear if the brain is trying to protect her, or if it was due to drugs or alcohol at this time. However, Benson needs to help her remember to get justice.
Law & Order Thursdays return on Thursday, April 3 starting at 8/7c on NBC.
