It’s finally time for our favorite crime dramas to return. Matlock is back with new episodes tonight, Thursday, Jan. 30.
The series took its winter break, but that winter break is over. The wait now is a good thing for after the show’s return. It will mean fewer breaks in the run-up to May compared to shows on NBC and ABC. Let’s take a look at what to expect as the series comes back.
Matlock returns tonight at 9 p.m. ET/PT
The great news is the show is back in its normal slot. We’ll get new episodes on Thursdays at 9/8c on CBS. There’s no need to change the timeslot when it’s worked so well.
Remember that this series has already been renewed for a second season. It got a huge boost with its special premiere, but it’s also a great show led by Kathy Bates, so what do we really expect?
What to expect in Matlock season 1, episode 9
We’ll get to see more of Matty and Olympia working together. Their relationship is turning more into a friendship as they realize that both offer something to the firm and to each other that they didn’t initially believe. This is going to make Matty’s secret even harder when it all comes out. Olympia is going to be heartbroken to find out that Matty knew secrets and lied about so much.
And that secret is sure to come out sooner rather than later. Matty continues to put herself in danger as she remain at Jacobson and Moore. Edwin is worried about his wife’s health and her freedom. What happens once she is caught? Could she be tried criminally? What about legally? After all, she’s going up against a huge law firm.
Matty can’t help herself, though. She needs to get answers about their daughter Ellie. She needs someone to blame for this, but she wants to know who in particular at the law firm that is.
