Going into Matlock season 2 episode 3, we knew that there would be a special committee called in to deal with a security breach. Of course, it was going to be linked to the Wellbrexa case, and that could have led to Mrs. B being exposed.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS from Matlock season 2 episode 3.
The start of the episode sees Olympia and Matty still at odds. Matty has lost the power once more, and she’s not coping well with that. How long will Olympia hold the power, though? After all, the committee could threaten everything.

Mrs. B confesses to Olympia in Matlock season 2 episode 3
The episode focuses on the Wellbrexa documents and the initial security breach. Mrs. B knows that she could end up being fired, and Matty tells Olympia that it was Mrs. B who leaked some of the information on Reddit. That’s what kicked off the entire series.
Of course, Matty wants to protect this woman, but is there any way around it? Olympia can’t see a way but to throw Mrs. B under the bus.
There is an interesting conversation between Matty and Edwin when it comes to the Mrs. B situation. Edwin makes it clear that this isn’t about Mrs. B or Olympia. This is about Matty losing control, and maybe, Matty can give up a little.
In this case, she decides that Olympia is right. Mrs. B needs to take the fall, and that’s exactly what happens. Yes, she ends up fired, but Matty helps her by giving her half a million dollars anonymously to make sure she’s set up for retirement. Maybe there is a friendship in there that can still blossom.

What is Eva up to in Matlock?
Olympia and Matty also end up on the same page. They will focus on taking Senior down, but Matty does get Olympia to agree to one thing. Julian will come to Matty, Edwin, and Alfie an apology. After all, it was his actions that arguably led to the family losing Ellie.
Matty isn’t completely giving up control, though. She uses Mrs. B’s credentials before they’re wiped from the system to get access to details that are connected to the Wellbrexa case. While she may be willing to hold back from going to The New York Times, she isn’t completely losing access to everything she needs. It’s possible that this is part of them working together, though, as with these details, they can also go up against Senior. It’s time for the next phase of the plan.
Does that next phase include Eva, Senior’s ex-wife, who appeared for the committee in Matlock season 2 episode 3? That’s unclear. Olympia and Eva do get a chance to chat during the episode, but Eva’s intentions are a little bit confusing. It sounds like she wants to take over Senior, so maybe she is someone who can join the fight, but at the same time, she would have been around for the Wellbrexa case, so can she be trusted?
