It’s about time that the back-and-forth between Olympia and Matty comes to an end. It’s dragging too much, but it doesn’t seem like it will happen in Matlock season 2 episode 5.
At the end of Matlock season 2 episode 4, Olympia shared that Julian knows about Matty’s involvement with Mrs. B, the documents, and the leak. This puts pressure on them to work together to take Senior down, but how can they do that when they still don’t trust each other?
Olympia and Julian may team up in Matlock season 2 episode 5
Now that Julian has all this information, he’s likely to use it against Matty. Julian needs to pick a side, and he needs to pick the right one. He knows what his dad has done in the past, and how it could have landed him in trouble, and yet, it looks like he’ll pick Senior once more.
However, he could choose Olympia and his family. He goes to Olympia in the promo, and it looks like it’s to make a deal together so that they can take down both Senior and Matty.
Will Olympia believe Julian after everything he has already done? She wants to protect him because he is the father of their children, but that doesn’t mean she has to still trust him. He has proven that he’s untrustworthy on both a professional and personal level.
And yet, here we are, wondering if Olympia will side with the devil she knows rather than the devil she doesn’t.
Matty needs Olympia to see Julian has no integrity
One of the issues with Matty that Olympia has is that Matty is a liar. She has set up a whole persona, and she continues to play that part. She came into the law firm under false pretences, simply because she could. That means Olympia can’t trust anything that she says.
But Matty notes to Edwin that Julian has no integrity. This is a man who was willing to remove legal documents to help win a case. It’s unethical, and if he was willing to do that, what else will he be willing to do to move up the career ladder?
Right now, Julian is at the very bottom again, and he’s already proven that he will do what it takes to move up. He’s sure to do that again, and it could risk everything for Matty and Olympia. Matty needs Olympia to see that.
Meanwhile, the two need to work together on a new case, which involves a teenager who was sentenced as an adult to life in prison. The two seem to want to get the case resentenced, potentially getting a judge to treat him as the teenager that he was at the time of his crime.
