There is always one thing that bothers me about a TV series set in a small town with a lot of murder. Murder in a Small Town season 2 is changing the narrative, bringing a realistic way to keep the show going.

Look, if you’re going to live in a small town that has a lot of murder, then you’re probably either in law enforcement or a little bit too attached to the place. If the crime rate was going up to the point where there was a murder each week that was super grisly and the talk of the town, I’d be moving out! I have to question everyone in Midsomer Murders, Shetland, and more.

Well, Murder in a Small Town is about to fix the issue. We see how in the trailer for season 2.

Karl Alberg’s jurisdiction is about to get bigger in Murder in a Small Town season 2

Karl came to the small town to get away from the high profile crimes. He turned up with the hope of getting away from the hustle and bustle of a major city. So, when he ended up with murder case after murder case, he took some time to adjust to this.

Now he has to adjust to something else. Marcia Gay Harden joins the cast, but not as an antagonist, like we probably suspected. Well, there may be a bit of a villain there as the story continues, but really, she just wants Karl to put his good work to the test to solve more crimes. She’s expanding his jurisdiction, making it one of the most believable ways to continue this series.

With more area to cover, it means that murder after murder isn’t going to just affect the small town. There are other locations, and it will make me question the people living there less.

Of course, this means a lot more work for everyone. It also means that Karl and Cassandra will need to be more in tune with each other. They do work better together rather than alone, and this upcoming season is going to offer the chance to showcase that more. We’ll also get to see more of Karl with his family, and that means more of Cassandra around his adult daughters.
