After getting confirmation that Lala is alive, we delved into a twisty and action-packed introduction to NCIS: Origins season 2. There was a comment from Lala to Gibbs that connects to NCIS: Origins season 2, episode 2.

The promo for the episode is actually focused on a few episodes in the second season. Like many traditional episode 2 trailers, it focuses on things to come in the season, and one of those is the return of Adam Campbell as Young Ducky. It’s clear that we’ll see Gibbs and Ducky remember each other, as the two met years earlier based on NCIS canon.

We have to wait for that moment, though. Instead, we get an episode that is focused on a case involving a college swimming.

Gibbs’s first interrogation in NCIS: Origins season 2, episode 2

During the premiere episode, Lala commented that she was surprised Gibbs hadn’t done his first interrogation yet. It’s something that we’ve all waited for, as we know Gibbs has an excellent interrogation tactic in NCIS. He had to develop that, though, and we know that everyone starts somewhere.

What is Gibbs’s first interrogation going to be like? We could get to find out in the new episode, as the synopsis tells us that Gibbs is going to prepare for it. Whether it takes place in this episode or not is another thing, as the promo sees Franks tell Gibbs that he may not be ready for it at one point.

Gibbs is also struggling with what he’s meant to do in his life. In the promo, it looks like there are doubts that he’s cut out for a career in NIS. To be honest, everyone is sure to have those doubts, but it’s interesting to see a young Gibbs have them, considering the agent he becomes in NCIS.

A case of a dead college swimmer

The case of the week involves a college swimmer who turns up dead. This is not a simple case, either. The synopsis for NCIS: Origins season 2, episode 2 tells us that the team will need to figure out whether this college swimmer has died by accident or if it is murder.

After all, the swimmer turns up on the beach. It’s possible that the swimmer got caught in a current, but this is NCIS: Origins, and it’s very rare that we find out it’s an accident. In fact, I don’t think we’ve ever come across that, have we?

Check out the promo and synopsis for NCIS: Origins season 2, episode 2:

When the body of a college swimmer washes up on the beach, the team must determine if it was an accident or murder; Gibbs prepares for his first interrogation.

NCIS: Origins airs on Tuesdays at 9/8c on CBS.
