Can the team deliver a Christmas miracle? Well, they’re told to stand down in NCIS season 22, episode 9.
The new episode sees the team in a race against time to protect a Marine. This isn’t linked to murder, but linked to a book that’s about to be published. This is certainly something unusual for the team when it comes to the type of episodes we’re used to.
There is a Christmas theme to the episode. We see Christmas trees, and a race to bring a Christmas miracle.
The team is ordered to stand down in NCIS season 22, episode 9
The episode picks up with the reveal that a tell-all memoir is about to be published. This is set to destroy the life of a decorated Marine. What does this Marine want to keep covered up, and why is the team willing to help him? It would suggest that the Marine did nothing wrong. We know McGee and the others well enough to know that they wouldn’t cover up something that needed exposing.
The problem is the team is told to stand down. So, this means the agency or someone higher up wants to make the Marine a scapegoat for something. Now it makes a lot of sense why the team would be on board with protecting the Marine.
I would love to see if there’s a connection to McGee’s life as a published author. This is something that the show seems to have forgotten about for the longest time, and it would be so great to see a comment about him getting in touch with his publisher or agent.

"When a shocking tell-all threatens to ruin Christmas for a decorated Marine, NCIS must unwrap the truth and deliver a holiday miracle -- before the book hits shelves and turns a hero's legacy into a holiday disaster."
This is the last episode of 2024. It’s the NCIS season 22 winter finale, which means we’re heading into a rather lengthy break. We know the remaining episodes of the season will be worth the wait.
