Just as we didn’t think NCIS could get any wackier, we’re going to get an episode where McGee is taken. And it looks like we’ll get a lot of McGee’s mind playing out for us in NCIS season 23 episode 6.
The series is certainly taking a leaf out of Stephen King’s Misery when it comes to this episode. You’ve got to be careful about who your “No. 1 fan” really is.
McGee is abducted in NCIS season 23 episode 6
The promo for the episode sets things up well for us to understand the case of the week. McGee has been taken, and it will be all hands on deck to find him. The show did tell us that something shocking was going to happen to McGee that would hopefully not be in a “jump the shark” way, and we all feared that it would involve babies. Well, it looks like it’s all to do with this storyline, instead.
McGee is supposed to be promoting his new book — and I’m so glad the series has gone back to McGee’s author pseudonym and his Deep Six series — but someone else has a different plan. His “No. 1 fan” has decided to abduct him, and it could be for the same reason Annie does in Misery: to make McGee write the book the way she wants it.
We’re assuming she, anyway. There is an image of a woman who doesn’t seem to fit the rest of the story that appears to be in McGee’s imagination.
Meet the team in McGee’s head
At the end of the promo, McGee comes across a woman dressed in black and with knee pads. While we don’t get to see her face, I don’t think this is the woman who has taken McGee. It looks like this is going to be a version of Knight McGee sees in his head, especially with the images that have been released.
We may just get to see how McGee imagines the characters inside his head. Of course, we know from when Tony and Ziva first learned about McGee’s books, he uses the people he works with and turns them into characters. As members have left and new members of the team have joined, it only makes sense that he would turn them into characters as well.
Will they help McGee find a way out of his current predicament before it’s too late? Will the rest of the team find out where he is? This is set to be a fun episode.
