NCIS Tuesdays won't start just yet, but there isn't long left to wait

Fall TV has started for most networks, but CBS is taking a little longer.

The wait for fall TV to come back in full is almost over. ABC finishes its return this week, but the same can’t be said for CBS. NCIS Tuesdays won’t start tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 7, but there isn’t much longer left to wait.

It’s been a beat since CBS premiere week happened in September, and we do miss it. The only good thing about the delayed start is that it means fewer breaks in the schedule on the other side. However, that doesn’t mean we’re all that happy about having to actually wait for the new episodes.

NCIS Tuesday will start next week

In some exciting news, the wait for NCIS Tuesday to start is almost over. NCIS season 23 will kick things off at 8/7c on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Yes, that’s next week!

It’s been four seasons since NCIS aired on a Tuesday night, and it certainly took time to get used to thinking of the show being on Mondays. It’s so good to see it return to its original timeslot.

For the first time ever, we’ll get an entire Tuesday night of NCIS drama. Even when we had NCIS: Los Angeles and New Orleans on the air, the three shows didn’t air back-to-back on one night! The closest we got was two shows airing back-to-back.

Well, now NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney will air on Tuesdays, and like the flagship, they’ll both premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

What to expect in NCIS season 23

When NCIS season 23 returns, it will pick up off the back of the NCIS season 22 finale. Parker got home to find his father murdered, and he’s sure that Carla had something to do with it. There are hints that Parker will find himself behind bars, but I can’t help wonder if that’s for his own safety rather than because he’s done something.

The season is set to see a moment that is hopefully not a “jump the shark” one. This does hint that McGee’s wife, Delilah, may have a baby, despite everything being against them. That wouldn’t exactly be a jump the shark moment, as the two already have twins, so I’m intrigued by what showrunner Steven D. Binder is so worried about.

What to expect in NCIS: Origins season 2

Meanwhile, the prequel series has one big question to answer, and it’s all about Lala. We know that Muriel Molino is returning to the series, but we don’t know the capacity. It could be that Lala survives the car crash, but it could also be in a ghostly or flashback format.

There’s a lot for the team to deal with as the show picks up off the back of the NCIS: Origins season 1 finale. One of those is for Mike Franks, who will need to deal with his brother Mason not dying in Vietnam, as believed.

What to expect in NCIS: Sydney season 3

The final show of the night will cover the fallout after the season 2 finale. It turned out that the person behind all the team’s troubles was someone who knew Mackey back in the day, Darwin. What does Mackey do with everything that she has now learned and experienced?

Meanwhile, JD will need to handle the breakdown of his marriage, which is never an easy thing to handle even if it did seem like it was always destined for this. As for Blue, she was greeted by a strange woman waiting for her at the end of the second season, and we need to know who that is.

NCIS Tuesdays begins on Tuesday, Oct. 14 starting at 8/7c on CBS.
