There are some changes coming to the network TV schedule in fall 2025. While many shows were canceled, we learned that there are two new TV crime dramas heading our way in the fall. They are on two different networks, and both are spinoffs of current shows.
ABC and CBS are the two lucky networks to have two new crime dramas. While one will air on Monday nights, the other will get a special Thursday night timeslot, giving the shows a chance of success.

CBS lands the CIA series in the fall
The first is set within the FBI universe. Tom Ellis will lead CIA, a series that sees both the FBI and CIA team up to help take down criminals. After all, the CIA has limited power when on U.S. soil, so it makes sense that a joint task force would be needed.
Yes, Ellis is playing the new CIA agent, and his character does sound a little Lucifer like. He’s smart and sassy at times, but there’s no mention of singing or a nightclub. Consider Ellis’s abilities to sing, we’re sure to see something included. Could the FBI universe get musical?
There is still casting underway, as we have no idea who will play his FBI partner in the series just yet. What we do know is that it will air on Mondays at 10/9c straight after the flagship series of the universe.

ABC lands a new 911 spinoff on Thursdays
Meanwhile, ABC is expanding the 911 universe, with the introduction of 911: Nashville. Yes, this likely means that music is involved considering that Nashville it the home of country music. The series will air straight after 911 on Thursdays, giving it a good chance of success.
Chris O’Donnell will take on the role of Captain Don Sharpe, who will work at the firehouse with his son. We’re still waiting on the casting for his son, but this certainly has a 911: Lone Star theme to it already. Don is happily married, and his wife will be played by Grey’s Anatomy vet Jessica Capshaw.
There are also some exciting additions to the series, although their roles and their number of appearances haven’t been confirmed yet. We’ll get to see LeAnn Rhimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley on 911: Nashville when it premieres in the fall.
There’s plenty to look forward to in the 2025–2026 TV season. These are just the two new TV crime dramas to get ready for.
