Throughout The Hunting Party season 1, we were delivered some surprising twists and turns. One turn that wasn’t all that much of a surprise was that Odell wasn’t in on the inmate escape.
While Odell knew something was going to happen, he didn’t know exactly what. However, he did know that the criminals inside were some of the most dangerous in the world. As the story to recapture the inmates continued, Odell revealed what he could about the silo, but it turned out that he also had a lot to explore and learn.
Will Odell survive in The Hunting Party season 2?
The big question for many is whether Odell will even survive as The Hunting Party season 2 begins. After Jenna took him in the season 1 finale, she placed a patch on his neck. This patch released a toxin that slowly killed a person, and as he stood up when Bex untied his restraints, he started bleeding from the nose and then collapsed.
It seems unlikely that Odell would survive that, as it looked like the toxin had already affected him. However, it was never really clear what the timeframe was like for this toxin to act. There was a lot that the task force hadn’t figure out.
So, since Nick Wechsler is a series regular, it’s likely that he will make a full recovery. Or at least, enough of a recovery to be part of the second season. The Hunting Party could throw us for a loop, though, and kill him off in the opening moments without pre-warning us about Wechsler’s departure from the show.
Odell will want more answers about The Pit
There’s no doubt that Odell will want to get more answers once he survives. He worked for The Pit as the warden for a number of years, and he didn’t seem to ask too many questions. However, he was observant, and he noticed that some people would disappear for good but not know what happened to them.
With AG Mallory disbanding the task force, Odell will likely find a way with Colonel Lazarus to keep it going. Lazarus didn’t seem to want anyone asking questions about The Pit, but by the end of the season, she was willing to work with Bex to recapture Jenna. Is it possible that she will help the team work on capturing other inmates, leading to more information about The Pit?
The Hunting Party season 2 will air on Thursdays at 10/9c on NBC. In fall 2025.
