What's next for Voight in Chicago PD season 13?

Voight turned to his old ways in Chicago PD season 12, but will have that an effect on him in Chicago PD season 13?

When it comes to Voight, we always know that there’s a risk he’ll turn to his old ways. A cheetah doesn’t change its stripes, and that can be said for Voight. He’s done well over recent years of Chicago PD, but when it came to protecting his team, he had to take the Reid matters into his own hands.

What does this mean for Chicago PD season 13, though? After all, there was a chance that Voight would find love again, but his actions in the Chicago PD season 12 have made it clear that that cannot happen. Chapman probably can’t look past his recent decisions.

Could someone learn about Voight’s involvement in Reid’s murder in Chicago PD season 13?

One of the biggest questions about Voight is whether he’ll get caught. Chapman has worked it all out, and it’s not like Voight didn’t deny everything that happened. Of course, there’s no proof of what he did, and for Chapman to convict Voight as a “dirty cop,” she would need evidence.

And is Voight a dirty cop for taking down a dirty cop? Voight was put between a rock and a hard place with Reid. He needed to find a way to take the man down, and everyone who could have done something was turned up dead. So, I don’t exactly blame him for turning to some of his old ways to get justice. And that’s what it was in the end.

The rest of the team seem to accept that what he did was the right thing. They’re not asking questions, even Trudy Platt and Olivia Cook, who want to follow the letter of the law. So, they’ll keep his secret, and now it’s all whether someone else can work things out.

Will Chapman be able to forgive and accept Voight for who he is in Chicago PD?

Now comes the question about the blossoming romance that we got to see in Chicago PD season 12. Is there any hope of that going anywhere in Chicago PD season 13 with the way things ended for them? At this point, probably not!

Chapman wants to do things by the letter of the law, and she won’t budge on that. There always has to be a way to bring a criminal down the legal way, but that’s not always the case. Voight knows that well, and he has to do whatever he can to protect himself and his team. And to be fair, it was more about his team rather than himself.

This is a boundary that’s been crossed, though, and it’s going to take a lot for Chapman to even consider accepting Voight’s flaws. In the end, we also have to wonder if Voight even cares that he’s potentially lost a second chance at love. He’s always made it clear that he’s not lonely. He’s used to being alone, and he’s happy with the life that he has, so why would he think about changing that?

Chicago PD will air on Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC in fall 2025.
