Wednesday night is One Chicago night. What’s going on with the Chicago PD schedule tonight, Wednesday, March 12?
There is some bad news for those getting ready for another episode with Intelligence taking on a new case. There’s a break in the schedule tonight, and the show won’t be back with new episodes until the end of the month. However, we do get some good news.
There is a rerun of Chicago PD tonight
This break is linked to scheduling needs. There needs to be a break for two reasons, and one of those is linked to getting episodes into May for finale week. There are more weeks than episodes available. On top of that, the show needs time to film all the new episodes and get into post-production, and these breaks in the schedule help with that.
Now for the good news. With this knowledge, NBC does put on reruns throughout the breaks. There will be a rerun of the three-way crossover event tonight, so you’ll want to tune in at 8 p.m. ET/PT for the Chicago Fire episode. This was the three-hour event that put lives on the line, including Trudy and Ruzek’s lives.
When will Chicago PD return with new episodes?
The break is a little longer than other ones so far this year. We’ll have to wait until Wednesday, March 26 for new episodes, so that means two weeks of reruns will happen. This likely isn’t the last break, either, as there’s sure to be at least one more before the run of final episodes of the season.
When the series returns, we’ll get a Burgess-centric episode. There’s a murder at a diner, and it turns out that she frequents this diner a lot. She has got to know some of the faces there, and she knows that some of the murder victims are regulars. She’ll be the key to help get to the bottom of the murder.
