A new episode of FBI isn't on tonight, May 27 (and there's some disappointing news)

We need more from FBI, but there's some bad news. There are no new episodes on tonight, Tuesday, May 27.

We are ready for new episodes of FBI, especially considering the way the previous episode ended. We have some disappointing news, but it’s not as devastating as with the other two FBI shows.

There isn’t a new episode of FBI airing tonight, Tuesday, May 27. This isn’t too surprising when you consider what the previous episode was or the time of year. We’re into the summer break, and that means we have a wait on our hands.

Why isn’t there a new episode of FBI on tonight?

CBS aired the FBI season 7 finale last week, and that’s not surprising when you consider how big the episode was. It ended with a major cliffhanger, and that’s why we need a new episode as soon as possible. We just need to wait for it now.

The season finale this time of year is normal. We’re now entering the summer months, and that means people will go on vacation or spend more evenings outside of the house. Putting top shows on during the summer is a death sentence for them as the linear ratings won’t be strong.

When will FBI return with new episodes?

In some good news, there will be some new episodes of FBI. Back in May 2024, CBS announced that the series would be renewed for three seasons, so we knew that FBI season 8 would definitely happen. Now we just need to wait for it, and the wait shouldn’t be too long. While CBS hasn’t announced fall premiere dates, we know that FBI season 8 will premiere in the fall, and that’s usually in September or October.

The bad news is that there’s a change of night. The FBI and NCIS franchises are switching nights, with FBI now moving to Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. There is only one spinoff in the FBI franchise now, and that will air in the hour afterward on Monday nights.

Until then, there’s plenty of time to catch up on the series on Paramount+. This is also a great time to check out similar shows, the canceled spinoffs, and much more!
