For the last 13 weeks, we’ve dived into a very different murder mystery. This wasn’t a case of solving who the murderer was, but solving who the victim was. And now there’s bad news for fans of Grosse Pointe Garden Society.
There isn’t a new episode of the quirky dramedy tonight, Friday, May 23. There isn’t going to be a new episode for some time, and there may not be one ever. At the time of writing this, this series is still on the bubble.
Why isn’t there a new episode of Grosse Pointe Garden Society on tonight?
Considering the cliffhanger at the end of the previous episode, there’s no doubt that you want more. We jumped to Halloween, getting another mystery, as it seems someone in a duck costume is threatening Birdie, Brett, and Catherine with something that he or she knows about them.
That cliffhanger should have probably given something away. It was the end of the season cliffhanger, making us need more to the story. Yes, the previous episode was the season 1 finale, and now we have a long wait on our hands. It makes sense why there isn’t a new episode of Grosse Pointe Garden Society on tonight, though.
When will Grosse Pointe Garden Society return?
Now our eyes are on the return of the series. That is if it will return. This is one of those shows that remains on the bubble, as NBC is still deciding what to do with it. It looks like rather than being part of the regular broadcast schedule Peacock is going to take the show over, but that’s where negotiations need to happen, as broadcast contracts and streaming contracts are very different.
If Peacock does save Grosse Pointe Garden Society, we’ll probably be looking at a 2026 return. There won’t be the time to bring the show back in time for Christmas, although having it back around Halloween would make a lot more sense considering the timing of the series. However, it will be difficult to manage since negotiations are still ongoing. Maybe we’ll get it in time for Halloween 2026.
May 2026 would also work. While the mystery is around Halloween, we’ll likely get the timeline leading up to that, which is sure to start when Grosse Pointe Garden Society season 1 ended around May.
