A lot of people choose to wait up for the arrival of a new episode of their favorite show on streaming. Reacher season 3 was dropping in the middle of the night on Thursdays, so Wednesdays were when you’d get ready for it. Well, there’s some bad news tonight, Wednesday, April 2.
There isn’t going to be a new episode dropping on Thursday, April 3. There’s no need to stay up, and you won’t need to stay up late for some time.
Reacher season 3 has come to an end
With the case wrapped up, it should have been clear that Reacher season 3 has come to an end. The finale aired last Thursday, bringing closure for Reacher, as he finally got the revenge against Quinn that he needed. To make the revenge sweeter, he managed to make Quinn remember Kohl and realize that he should be very afraid of Reacher.
There was also some closure for Duffy, who managed to get Theresa back alive and (mostly) well. There is hope for Theresa to get clean and end up on the straight and narrow. Meanwhile, Reacher and Neagley were able to close another case and look at what comes next.
So, this is the end of a season. It means that we’re going a fair few months without new episodes of Reacher, but it’s not all bad news.
Reacher season 4 is happening, but not for some time
While we are into a break between the seasons, there is the good news that Reacher season 4 is happening. Pre-production on the season has started, with filming slated to start in summer 2025. This would suggest that we’ll get the show either late 2026 or in early 2027.
I’m leaning more toward 2027, because there is the spin-off series Neagley currently in production. Maria Sten will reprise her role, leading her own show with Reacher popping up now and then to help her out in the way she has done for him. This series is likely to come in 2026, and Amazon won’t want to put two big shows from the same franchise on in the same year. That doesn’t make good business sense.
At least we know there will be more. There’s no word on the book that it will follow, but I don’t think that matters, to be honest. We’re just here for more of Alan Ritchson as the Reacher we knew he would be.
Reacher is available to stream on Prime Video.
