If there is one crime drama we’ve enjoyed consistently, it’s The Irrational. This series doesn’t fail to both entertain and educate. Well, there is some bad news about the series tonight, Tuesday, April 1.
No, this isn’t a bad April Fools joke. There isn’t a new episode of The Irrational on tonight, and there won’t be a new episode for some time (and maybe not ever!). I wish I could jump out and say April Fools right now!
The Irrational has aired its season 2 finale
I swear, the season 2 finale came out of nowhere. NBC hasn’t been as consistent with May finale dates for the last couple of years. Rather than waiting until May and putting breaks in the schedule, NBC brought The Irrational season 2 to an end last week.
It was a great episode that ended with change for almost everyone. Marisa has decided to sell her home, while Alec realized that he didn’t need the surgery and he could accept his scars. Meanwhile, Rose decided that as much as she loved her work, she wanted to remain in one place and opened up her own agency in town, and Phoebe and Simon made their relationship known to Alec.
For a while, the ending seemed to work as a series finale, and then the very end came. Someone sent photos to Alec, showing that they were following him. It looks like Alec will be Rose’s first client.

The Irrational season 3 isn’t confirmed just yet
In some bad news, The Irrational season 3 hasn’t been confirmed yet. A lot of NBC shows are currently on the bubble, but it’s worrying when a series comes to an end of a season without a renewal decision. Will we get closure for the cliffhanger?
I’m worried that the Jesse L. Martin series won’t be renewed. The linear ratings didn’t perform as well as the first season, putting it close to the bottom of all NBC shows airing this season. It could depend on the streaming figures and the way pilots perform to see if The Irrational will be renewed.
For now, you can watch The Irrational on Peacock.
