Yes, 911: Lone Star Season 5 will premiere in September 2024
It’s been a long wait for 911: Lone Star Season 5. Despite being renewed in May 2023, the show didn’t land a spot in the 2023–2024 TV season. The good news is the show will return in fall 2024.
A lot has changed for the 911 franchise. The flagship series has moved over to ABC, while 911: Lone Star has remained on Fox. It looks like this could be the last season of the Texas-based series, although that remains to be confirmed at this point.
The good news is we don’t have to wait much longer for the return of the series. 911: Lone Star Season 5 will premiere on Monday, Sept. 23. It will kick off Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
A lot of change coming in 911: Lone Star Season 5
This season is about to see change. The first is that Grace is not coming back. This was the first hint that the series is coming to an end, although Fox hasn’t confirmed it. It’s not yet clear how Grace is being written out of the story. She and Judd better not split up, because that goes against everything written about that couple so far.
We also know that Judd is going to opt for retirement from the 126. He needs to look after his son Wyatt, who was paralyzed after a motorcycle accident at the end of Season 4. With Judd’s retirement comes a search for a new lieutenant, and both Marjan and Paul want that position. Owen needs to make a hard choice.
As all that plays out, we’ll see Wyatt step into a new line of work. He’ll be the new dispatcher for 911, so we’ll be seeing a lot more of him.
Carlos will also get a bit more screen time. He needs to figure out who killed his father, and he will stop at nothing to figure it out.
