Could Ben be the mystery soldier coming to save Layton in Snowpiercer?

There have been a few tragic losses in Snowpiercer so far. One of the worst has been the loss of Ben, and part of me doesn’t want to believe that happened.

In the synopsis for Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 8, we’re told that a masked soldier is coming to help Layton, Josie, and Liana. This has to be a friend of theirs who is coming out to save them. After all, they haven’t been around the Animal Squad long enough to build a rapport with them and gain some empathy.

Is it possible that it’s Ben back from the dead? After all, someone being frozen on this doesn’t mean that they are going to die permanently.

Did Dr. Headwood start some experiments on Ben in Snowpiercer?

We learned that it is possible for people to come back after being frozen. At least, sort of. We presumed Josie had been killed when she was frozen only to learn that she was severely frostbitten. Boki had something similar, and we know very little about the Cold Man. However, it’s clear that some of the effects of the cold can be reversed.

So, is it possible that Dr. Headwood did some experiments on Ben? We know his body was taken. Of course, someone could have pushed him out into the wilderness, but knowing how Milius and Dr. Headwood love doing human experiments, it would make more sense that Ben’s body was taken.

This could allow him to come back. When he does, he would still be on Layton’s side, and he would want to get out to save Layton, Josie, and Liana.

It is a little too soon for something like this to happen, though. It took a long time for Josie to go through all her treatments to come back stronger.

Plus, reversing Ben’s death actually takes away from the huge sacrifice that he made to ensure the people he loved and cared about got away. I’d rather a death like that be honored, so I hope that it is someone else in Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 8.
