Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 5 ended with a heartbreaking death. Will Till want to put the blame on someone for that? Will she end up blaming Layton for everything? What about Ruth?

At the end of Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 5, we lost the first engineer. Ben sacrificed himself to make sure the people of Big Alice got away. It was a death Till watched after realizing that Ben knew this was going to happen and didn’t tell her. She just thought he was going to face the horrors of Snowpiercer for a little while longer.

Most people want to blame someone when it comes to a death. Layton seems like the right person for Till to blame.

Had Layton not fallen into the trap, Ben’s death wouldn’t have happened in Snowpiercer

There’s no doubt that Layton is partially to blame for Ben’s death. He was the one to want Big Alice to save Liana. Ruth was against it, but it ended up going to a town vote. In the end, more people sided with Layton than with Ruth.

Had this not happened, there wouldn’t have been the situation where Ben needed to get out to manually uncouple the trains. Till could see this in her anger and sadness at Ben’s death.

Till knows that they could die at any point on Snowpiercer

However, Till hasn’t been one for laying the blame on people in the past. So, I doubt that she’ll do this now. Deep down, she knows that anything could have happened to any of them on Snowpiercer.

It sounds like there have been a few losses over the last year due to Milius and his Animal Squad. Till was the first one shot when the Animal Squad took over, so she’ll harbor hatred for them. She knows that Ben could have died at the hands of the Animal Squad at any point.

Ben’s death is actually a way to stick two finger up against the Animal Squad. They need engineers, and now they’re down Ben and Miles. Only Alex is there, and Melanie when and if she returns from her outside mission. Of course, there’s also Wilfred, but it doesn’t look like Wilfred and Milius really like or trust each other.

Till has her emotions and sometimes struggles to deal with her anger, but it’s not normally directed at people in an unreasonable way. She’ll be angry at Layton, Ruth, herself, and even Ben for everything that happened at the end of the previous episode, but she also knows that this is all on Milius and the Animal Squad.
