Chicago PD isn't new tonight, but we know when it will return (April 17)
Upton takes center stage again when Chicago PD does return with new episodes. That’s just not going to happen tonight, Wednesday, April 17.
We are in a string of weeks off from new episodes of the entire One Chicago line-up. That started last Wednesday, and it will continue throughout the month of April.
This break is linked to scheduling needs. NBC needs to space out episodes to ensure the finale can air in May, and the show is likely needing a break to make sure the last few episodes can get through production and post-production in time.
Upton tackles a case involving a child when Chicago PD returns
The series will air a new episode of Chicago PD on Wednesday, May 1. Yes, we have to wait all of April for a new episode, but we should go into the final four episodes without a break from this point.
We now have a promo to give us an idea of what to expect when Chicago PD does return. Upton takes center stage again, which isn’t all that surprising. Tracy Spiridakos is leaving the series during this season, and the show needs to spend some time on why Upton would want to leave Intelligence. After all, we can’t see her being killed off, especially based on Jason Beghe’s latest comments.
It looks like things are going to get too much. Is it possible that too many deaths and the inability to catch killers is going to lead to her handing over her badge? Maybe she thinks she can do better elsewhere.
The new episode will see a young girl show up at the precinct. She shares that her mom is at home and isn’t allowed to leave there. Who keeps her trapped? The monster. Upton will want to figure out who this monster is and where the girl’s mom actually is.
