Eyes are on the return of fall TV, and Chicago PD Season 12 is one of the first premieres of the lot. That could be preempted, though.
Chicago PD is set to air its 12th season premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 25. This is the same night as the other two One Chicago shows, and NBC is sure to want to keep all three shows on the same schedule. So, if one show has to be delayed, then the other two will.
A Presidential Debate could happen on the same night as the Chicago PD premiere
We are into a big year for politics. It’s another election year, and that means a lot of debates will hopefully happen. Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are set to debate on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
While the debate is set to air on ABC, that doesn’t mean all other networks will stick to their original plans. After all, the networks won’t want to compete with the debate, and will likely want to encourage people to tune into said debates.
This could mean the Chicago PD Season 12 premiere is preempted. While the debate won’t hit the same time as the cop drama, it will hit the same time as the medical drama Chicago Med. With that in mind, we’re looking at all three One Chicago shows potentially being preempted to the following week.
NBC hasn’t confirmed its plan as of yet. For now, keep Sept. 25 in your diary for the premiere date. After all, there’s no guarantee that the debate will even happen. We know what politics can be like, and one of the Presidential candidates could end up pulling out. It’s probably why NBC hasn’t confirmed preempting the episodes yet, and they may do that closer to the time.
Chicago PD Season 12 is currently set to premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 10/9c on NBC.
