The summer break of 2024 is not going to be as long as the summer break of 2023. Networks are setting their premiere dates, and NBC is the latest one to do so. We know Chicago PD Season 12 will premiere at the start of the fall.

NBC has set the date for all fall shows to return. As we already knew, Chicago PD would end Wednesday nights as usual. All three One Chicago shows will premiere on the same date, starting with Med and then running through Fire and PD.

When we predicted the premiere date, we said toward the middle or the end of September. Now we have the confirmation.

Chicago PD Season 12 premiere date on NBC confirmed

TVLine has the list of all the premiere dates. Chicago PD Season 12 will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 25. This will follow the premieres of Chicago Med Season 10 and Chicago Fire Season 13 on the same night.

Episodes will air on Peacock the following day. As before, you’ll be able to watch from 6 a.m. ET/3 a.m. PT on Thursdays after new episodes air.

It’s one of the earlier premieres on the network. Most other crime dramas won’t premiere until the week after. Yes, we have to wait until October for the likes of The Irrational, the Law and Order shows, and Found.

We’ll likely se around seven episodes air before the midseason finale. This can sometimes happen around the week before Thanksgiving, but we do sometimes see NBC take a week off for Thanksgiving and then bring the fall finale in the first week of December. We won’t know until closer to the time what NBC has planned for this year.

There are little details about Season 12 just yet. All we know is that Intelligence has lost a team member. Upton has chosen to move on to new things, and all eyes are on who will take that open spot on the team.
