Will Ruzek go for revenge in Chicago PD Season 12, Episode 2? (Preview)
When Detective Emily Martel came into the series feeling that she just fit with Intelligence, we knew that it couldn’t be a good thing. Of course, Chicago PD was going to deliver a shocking blow. We just didn’t expect it to happen at the end of the Season 12 premiere, though.
The promo for Chicago PD Season 12, Episode 2 makes it clear that Ruzek is going to be out for blood. Voight has learned his lesson, though, after the events of Season 11.
Ruzek wants revenge in Chicago PD Season 12, Episode 2
At the end of the previous episode, Martel was shot in the back of the head. Ruzek’s back was turned, so he couldn’t even warn her. In the promo for Chicago PD Season 12, Episode 2, we see him pull her body into his lap. He needs to figure out what happened and how to get revenge.
Yes, it’s revenge that he wants. He doesn’t want justice. This is a side of Ruzek that we’ve seen time and time again, and this time, there is another layer to it. Ruzek was the one who got Emily to join Intelligence. She had taken medical leave after seeing her partner shot. There will be a guilt layer to this all happening. Had Ruzek not convinced her, this wouldn’t have happened.
However, Voight is clearly not on the side of revenge. He needs Intelligence to do this the right way. He knows what it’s like to go down paths of revenge.
The question is whether this case will be solved in one episode, or if it will take a few episodes. Chicago PD opted for a season-long storyline in Season 11 and it worked well to keep revisiting it. However, do we really want to see Ruzek going down rabbit holes of information for revenge?
