Could A Good Girl's Guide to Murder be renewed for Season 2?

There’s a new murder mystery to watch on Netflix. It’s all about A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.

The first season follows Pip as she figures out who killed Andie Bell. She knows that the boy who “admitted” to the murder didn’t do it. She’s sure of it, and she will do what she can to prove that. She works with his brother Ravi to get to the bottom of the murder.

The story itself does wrap up neatly. If this is the end of the series, then it’s a clean one. We get details of who murdered Andie, who thought Andie was still alive, who murdered Sal, and much more. Yes, that includes who murdered Barney the dog.

But is there room for more in the story? Could we see a renewal happen?

There is another book in the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder franchise

The series itself is based on a book by Holly Jackson. This is just the first in a trilogy, which means there is more to the story should the show be renewed.

The sequel is called Good Girl, Bad Blood. She and Ravi Singh now have a true-crime podcast. They cover the murder that they solved the previous year, and this podcast has gone viral. However, Pip isn’t a detective. She isn’t going to solve another murder.

That is until someone she knows goes missing. Jamie Reynolds was in the town the night the sixth anniversary memorial for Andie and Sal was hosted. The police refuse to look into it, so Pip decides that she needs to do so instead.

Of course, this is a town with even more dark secrets. Pip is going to uncover them, but what threats befall her this time?

Could Netflix renew A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder?

The series isn’t just a Netflix show. It’s a joint Netflix and BBC venture, and the two will want to see what the interest is like internationally as well as in the UK for the BBC. This can make renewals a little trickier.

Let’s say the interest is great internationally but not in the UK. It could lead to BBC dropping out in the way the broadcaster did with The Last Kingdom. That leaves Netflix having to make a decision about the future. Will it take on A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 alone like it did with The Last Kingdom?

Netflix and the BBC won’t likely make a decision for a month or two. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on things.
