Wilderness

We’ll head back to fiction for the next offering, Wilderness. This one is on Prime Video and it stars Jenna Coleman as Liv. She’s an Englishwoman living in America with her wealthy husband. When she learns that he’s cheating on her, she has to make a decision. Should she stay or leave?

Well, what about something different? How about making him jump through a few hoops to win her back? Those hoops could lead to murder when she books a road trip around America to some of the more desolate and dangerous areas. This is another one of those shows that will keep you guessing until the end, but not about who the murderer is.

The Staircase

Coin Firth and Toni Collette star in this dramatized version of a true story. There is also a docuseries that covers the story, but you want to see this dramatized version on Max. It follows the mysterious death of Kathleen Peterson who was found dead at the bottom of the staircase in the mansion she shared with her husband Michael Peterson.

Michael told the police that his wife slipped after drinking wine and taking Valium. However, there are inconsistencies with the case, including the amount of blood at the bottom of the staircase. Michael ends up as the prime suspect, despite always maintaining his innocence.
