Dexter: Original Sin will premiere in December 2024 (take a look at the trailer)
Not all killers are born. Some are made, and that’s certainly the case for Dexter Morgan. We get to see how it all started in Dexter: Original Sin.
Patrick Gibson takes on the role of a young Dexter Morgan, with Christian Slater playing his father. Don’t worry, though; we’ll still have Michael C. Hall involved. He will narrate the series, and he even narrates the first full trailer for the series.
In it, we learn that Dexter knows that he wasn’t born a serial killer. His past and the people around him shape him into the killer that we come to know in the OG series. It’s time to see how all that plays out.
Dexter: Original Sin premiere date confirmed
The prequel series will head to Paramount+ with Showtime on Friday, Dec. 13. You will need to have the full subscription and not just your usual Paramount+ subscription, sadly, according to TVLine.
If you still watch Showtime on cable, you’ll be able to watch the episodes there on Sunday nights, with the premiere airing on Sunday, Dec. 15.
From there, the episodes will air weekly on Friday on the streamer and on Sundays on the channel.
The trailer gives us a glimpse at the various characters
We only hear from Hall’s Dexter as he shares how it “takes a village to raise a killer.” The series is set in the 1990s, as Dexter enters the world of work and has to deal with his serial killer tendencies. His father is the one who will help him focus the serial killer efforts. This isn’t about killing the innocent, but taking the lives of those they feel deserves to die. Dexter is a vigilante serial killer, after all.
He’ll need to do it all while avoiding detection. We know that happens as we’ve seen the OG series, but what steps do he and his dad take to protect him, especially as he works for the police.
