Michael C. Hall will be involved in Dexter: Original Sin (and here's how)

You didn't think we'd have a Dexter series without Michael C. Hall, did you? Dexter: Original Sin may be set in the 1990s, but it will include our favorite serial killer.

We are getting ready for Dexter: Original Sin. It’s time to head to the 1990s to understand how Dexter became the man we knew him as in the original TV series.

For a long while, it looked like Michael C. Hall wouldn’t be involved in the series. With it being set in the past, Patrick Gibson is taking on the iconic role of the serial killer with a moral compass. Christian Slater will take on the role of Dexter’s father, who helps guide his son down the right path to harness his serial killer ways.

There have been plenty of other cast members joining the series, including Patrick Dempsey and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Well, we can now add Hall to the list.

Michael C. Hall will narrate Dexter: Original Sin

There are a lot of prequels out there, and they tend to include narration now. Just look at Young Sheldon with Sheldon narrating his story. NCIS: Origins is set to have Mark Harmon return to narrate the series, although he won’t appear on the screen.

Is it really that surprising that Dexter: Original Sin will have a narration? This isn’t the same type of narration as Young Sheldon, based on the report from TVLine. It looks like Hall will be the voice in Young Dexter’s head. This will be the narration for himself as he figures out what to do and who to kill. It will add a new layer to the storytelling for a series that could have been problematic with internalization.

There isn’t any word on when the prequel series will head to Showtime. However, there is a tease for the series, which looks to be the opening credits for the show. The end of the clip includes Hall’s voice saying “Hello, Dexter Morgan.” The clip then cuts to reveal that Hall will be the “inner voice of Dexter.”

Well, we’re ready for Dexter: Original Sin!
