Elsbeth Season 2 finds a killer guest star in Only Murders in the Building vet

Each episode of Elsbeth Season 2 is set to have another killer guest star. The first is an Only Murders in the Building vet that we can't wait to see back on our screens.

We are more than ready to see Elsbeth return to our screens. That’s not happening until October, but CBS has a tease for us for when it does return. We’ve found out who one of the killer guest stars is.

When Only Murders in the Building Season 4 headed off to Hollywood, it meant that not all former guest stars would return. That included Nathan Lane, whose storyline did arguably come to a close at the end of the third season as he and Oliver had their heart to heart.

That didn’t stop us from wanting more, but it looks like Lane hasn’t struggled to find work. And we’re not surprised by that. He remains a sought-after actor on TV and on Broadway. One of his new roles is going to be on an episode of Elsbeth Season 2.

Who will Nathan Lane play in Elsbeth Season 2?

TVLine reports that Lane will take on the role of Phillip Cross, an opera lover who is driven to murder. He will kill all because of a ringing cell phone. Honestly, can we blame the man? Someone’s cell phone ringing in the middle of a movie, play, or opera performance is rude and annoying!

We always know who the murderer is going into an episode of the series. Elsbeth is a “howdunit” as the police get to the bottom of the situation.

What the show will hopefully do is add some fun in the fact that Lane was in Elsbeth’s parent show. He appeared in multiple episodes as Clarke Hayden, a lawyer and accountant.

Could Elsbeth comment on his face looking familiar? Maybe something about Cross’s character is similar to that of Hayden’s? Of course, the series could just ignore it, but sometimes, these sorts of Easter eggs are just fun to add in.
