I think we can all agree that CBS made a strange decision with airing the first episode of Elsbeth and then immediately taking a break. That is not the way to give a new series the best chance.
The good news is we know when the series will return. From the start, we knew that we would have to wait until April. We’re waiting until Thursday, April 4 to be exact.
We’re not just waiting for one episode, though. CBS is treating us to two episodes, which means So Help Me Todd won’t air that night.
Elsbeth gets two episodes on Thursday, April 4
The first of the two episodes will air at the earlier time of 9 p.m. ET/PT. This is straight after a new episode of the hit comedy Ghosts. We’ll get to see if the earlier time is a good slot for the series as it could be help CBS decide if a shakeup is needed next TV season.
The second episode will then air in the usual 10 p.m. ET/PT timeslot. After that, we should have the regular schedule return with So Help Me Todd and then Elsbeth.
What to expect when Elsbeth returns
Linda Lavin guest stars in the first episode of the night. She is a president of a co-op board who falls for her death. Well, it turns out that she was hated by many, which means there are a few people with the motive to kill her. Jane Krakowski also guest stars. She’s a real estate broker who has clients with big secrets. Are any of them involved in the death of the co-op board president?
In the second episode, we’ll find a reality TV star dead in her bathtub. The question at first is whether the death is accidental or murder. Well, it turns out that Skip Mason, guest star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, is a producer who will do anything for “good TV.” Does that include murder?
Elsbeth returns on Thursday, April 4 at 9/8c on CBS. Catch up on the series premiere on Paramount+.
