FBI: Most Wanted isn't new tonight, but here's what we know about the return date

The bad news is FBI: Most Wanted won't air a new episode on CBS tonight, Tuesday, May 28. The good news is that this is only a break.
“Hollow” – The Fugitive Task Force heads upstate to assist in a search for missing and murdered Indigenous women and hunt down the serial killer responsible. Meanwhile, Barnes struggles to find time to bond with her wife, on FBI: MOST WANTED, Tuesday, March 12 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs). Tuesdays are supposed to be all about the FBI dramas. The bad news is we don’t have new episodes of any of the three shows tonight, and that includes FBI: Most Wanted.

The series is now on its summer break. The previous episode was the Season 5 finale, and it was a big episode that put lives on the line. Fortunately, Ray was able to make it back to get married, and we got to see how Barnes is doing after almost dying two episodes earlier.

In some good news, we will get more of the series. FBI: Most Wanted Season 6 was confirmed by CBS. So, now we’re just looking at when we can expect the series.

When will FBI: Most Wanted return with new episodes?

We don’t need to wait until 2025 for this series. CBS has announced its fall 2024 schedule, and all three FBIs are on the list. FBI: Most Wanted will continue to close a Tuesday night of crime drama at 10 p.m. ET/PT each week.

There isn’t a set premiere date just yet. That’s not surprising as the networks tend to let some of the pre-production work get started first. In some cases, the production work has a chance to start. We could hear premiere dates in June, but we should definitely have a decision by July.

There is a cost-cutting project happening among the FBI shows. Not all characters will be in all episodes. We’ll see a reduction in appearances by three to four episodes per character, according to Deadline. This is something a lot of shows are doing now as a way to save some money. The creation of the shows is getting expensive. We have had this happen in FBI: Most Wanted here and there when some stars have needed to take time off, but it’s going to happen more often.
