CBS sets the date for the FBI Season 6 finale (and it's when we usually see it)
CBS has set the dates for finales of current shows. Some of these are series finales, but in the case of FBI, we know that it’s just a season finale.
Shortly after the list of finales, CBS confirmed the renewal of the FBI franchise. For the flagship series, it’s excellent news. The series has another three seasons ordered, which means we have this show until 2027 at least.
So, we can go into the finale without worrying about what to expect. There’s no need to worry about a major cliffhanger and that’s the way the series ends forever.
When is the FBI Season 6 finale?
CBS has set the date for Tuesday, May 21. This is around the usual time for a finale of this top series. CBS likes the middle to the end of May as that puts on plenty of new episodes during the May Sweeps with the Neilsen ratings.
The episode will air at the usual time of 8 p.m. ET/PT. We’ll get the FBI: International Season 3 and FBI: Most Wanted Season 5 finales straight after.
Will there be any more breaks in the schedule?
While a lot of CBS shows will only have 10 episodes, the FBI franchise managed to get 13 episodes. This is great news for the schedule. There will be one week off, but there should be a good string of episodes before that and then after that.
The next new episode will air on Tuesday, April 16. After that, there are four episodes left but five weeks to fill.
FBI Season 7 should premiere in fall 2024
We’re fully expecting this show to come back in the fall of 2024. There’s just no reason for CBS to push it to the midseason, especially when it’s so confident in the show’s performance that it’s landed a three-season renewal.
The only reason the series wasn’t back in the fall in the 2023–2024 season was due to the strike action in the summer. When we look at the May Upfronts in 2023, there was the plan to bring the show back in the fall. Things had to be pushed when there were writing and filming delays. We shouldn’t have that issue this summer, which means CBS can get back to a normal schedule.
With all three shows renewed for another season, we should also see FBI Tuesdays remain the same. Of course, eyes will be on whether there’s another spin-off that could be developed to build a franchise the way NCIS has.
FBI airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS.
