FBI just had a big character death to kick off Season 6! How is this going to affect Tiffany going forward?

Caution: This article contains SPOILERS for FBI Season 6 premiere

In the Season 6 premiere, “All the Rage,” the team was investigating who was behind the bombing of a bus that killed 10 people. Tiffany (Katherine Renee Kane) talked to OA, who pushed her to be more assertive on the case. When a lead popped up at a restaurant, Tiffany enlisted long-time supporting tech Hobbs (Roshawn Franklin) to go undercover there.

The two had a nice talk beforehand with Hobbs, who was excited to be in the field. Wanting to prove himself, he trailed the suspected terrorist, Hakim, into the bathroom only for the guy to figure out Hobbs was a fed. They fought with the terrorist shooting Hobbs, who died in Tiffany’s arms.

Naturally, Tiffany was consumed with grief and guilt over putting Hobbs in this situation. That drove her to hunt the suspect, part of a group wanting to punish the U.S. for military strikes against Somalia. They stopped Hakim from setting off another bomb, but he escaped when Tiffany was struck by a car.

The episode ended with Tiffany watching Hobbs’s memorial service with the team sharing memories of him. Tiffany herself was still shaken by how losing Hobbs was a huge blow.

Katherine Renee Kane talks about Tiffany’s future in FBI Season 6

In an interview with TV Insider, Katherine Renee Kane shared how Hobbs’s death will affect Tiffany in Season 6. While Tiffany made the right call with the mission, losing someone is going to be a lot of guilt to carry. That’s why Tiffany didn’t take part in Hobbs’ memorial, as she still blamed herself for his death.

Not helping is that Hakim got away, and it appears a subplot of the season will be Tiffany hunting him down.

" Right now has a lot to do with trying to catch the guy that is responsible for it, and so we have to wait and see how that happens. I think that it’s just something that’s sort of festering in her until the time can come when she can take revenge—not necessarily revenge, but seek justice for his loss. I think we can absolutely expect for Tiffany to continue to step forward into a leadership role, especially as it pertains to this case and this perp. But exactly how, when and where I think is still a mystery. He can come up anywhere. He’s so elusive."

Tiffany was shaken when Jubal told her that Hobbs's wife didn't want to see her, adding to her guilt. She has to be careful that her desire to catch Hakim doesn't become an obsession, which could hurt her career.

Kane hinted that Tiffany would get support from the team and was also hopeful viewers would get to see more of her personal life and her family. Whatever else, the loss of Hobbs is going to shake Tiffany up and shape her journey through FBI Season 6.

FBI Season 6 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS and streams on Paramount+ the following day.
