There is something about the addition of a dog that makes a TV show so much better. We also usually get worried that something will happen to the dog. Well, Elsbeth Season 2 is going to be better and probably not so nail-biting compared to many other TV crime dramas.

In Elsbeth Season 1, Episode 8, our titular character met a dog she immediately fell in love with. This dog, Gonzo, also helped to solve the case. It just seems so natural for Elsbeth to adopt Gonzo and now have this new member of the family to take care of and help her.

Of course, that’s where we find them. Carrie Preston’s character now has a dog!

There will be more Gonzo in Elsbeth Season 2

The great news for dog lovers is that we’ll get to see more of Gonzo in the new season. Showrunner Jonathan Tolins has confirmed that Gonzo will be back.

In what capacity? Well, that part remains to be seen. We do get to see some of Elsbeth’s every day life, but it wouldn’t be completely out of the ordinary for her to bring Gonzo with her on more cases. What are the chances that he’ll help to solve even more crimes with her.

Should we worry about Gonzo getting hurt? With the way this series has been, I don’t expect it. This show is a little more light-hearted than a lot of other shows on CBS and other broadcast networks. It’s the lighter storytelling that we sometimes need, especially at the end of a long week. So, the chances of Gonzo being put in danger are pretty slim.

It does turn out that in the first season, there wasn’t the original intention for Elsbeth to get a dog. It was a little harder to fit Gonzo in at first, but now everyone has had time, so it’ll be exciting to see what’s to come.
