High Potential scores a fall 2024 spot: Here's what we know
ABC has announced its fall 2024 schedule, and there are some new shows on the way. The crime drama we’re looking out for is High Potential.
High Potential follows Morgan, a single mother of three who has a brilliant mind. So, what is she doing working as a cleaner? That comes down to circumstances and people simply underestimating her. The underestimation doesn’t last for long.
While at work, she helps to solve a crime simply by putting the evidence in the right order. With that comes a chance to consult on other cases. Sometimes all you need is a fresh set of eyes on the evidence. Sometimes, you need a genius!
When will High Potential premiere on ABC?
The new series will premiere on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT. This will follow a two-hour block of Dancing with the Stars in the fall.
It could be a good timeslot. Following a popular show like Dancing with the Stars could help to initially get some eyes on the series. However, this is a difficult timeslot overall. It goes up against CBS’s FBI block, and we know that the FBI block is the most popular block on Tuesday nights. It will also go up against The Irrational on NBC, which returns for its second season.
The latter isn’t as much of a risk. This isn’t to say we don’t love The Irrational. We do, but CBS is the network with the attention on Tuesdays, especially for that last timeslot of the night.
We also have to remember that the 10 p.m. ET/PT timeslot is struggling a lot for all networks. There were talks about scrapping the timeslot just a couple of years ago. People are choosing to watch the episodes through delayed methods instead of staying up late to watch live, and we can’t blame them. It just means networks need to pay close attention to the delayed viewing figures to see if a show is a success.
High Potential will air Tuesdays at 10/9c on ABC in fall 2024.
