The Irrational is on the move for Season 2 on NBC in fall 2024

In some great news, The Irrational Season 2 is part of the fall 2024 schedule. We knew that was going to be the case at the end of the first season when NBC made it clear that the series would return in the fall. What we didn’t know was when.

NBC has now set the fall 2024 schedule. We will see The Irrational keep its late timeslot, but it is moving nights. Could this be a good or bad thing?

Why is The Irrational moving nights for Season 2?

NBC has opted to air The Irrational Season 2 on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT instead of Mondays. The show will still follow a new episode of The Voice, which will air at 9 p.m. on Tuesdays instead of the earlier block. NBC is bringing a one-hour comedy block on Tuesdays. It’s an interesting move, and it’s not all that easy to predict what this could mean for the various shows.

This move may not have that much of an effect on The Irrational. Monday and Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. are both tricky timeslots. That last hour of the night sees a lot of people tuning out and going to bed. However, the ratings can be steady, especially thanks to The Voice acting as a lead-in.

When will The Irrational Season 2 premiere on NBC?

Now that we know the series will air in the fall, we want to know exactly when. There isn’t a premiere date just yet, and that’s not surprising. May is about announcing the schedule. The exact premiere dates come in during June or July, giving the show time to get into pre-production so the network can set some potential return dates.

We are looking at toward the middle or end of September, though. NBC tries not to push too much into October, kicking off the fall season with a bang.
