One thing was clear at the end of Jensen Ackles’s episode of Tracker. There was still work to do.
Fans loved seeing the Supernatural Easter eggs in Tracker Season 1, Episode 12. Then there was the great dynamic between Russell and Colter Shaw. There is a lot to unpack for the brothers. While Russell was there on the night of their father’s death, he didn’t kill the man. He just doesn’t know whether it was an accident, suicide, or murder.
However, Colter stopped talking to his brother, believing Russell to be the reason for their dad’s death. The two ended up working together in the penultimate episode, but Russell left without even a goodbye. It was clear with messages passed on that Russell would be back, as long as the series could land Ackles back,
Jensen Ackles will have at least a two-episode story in Tracker Season 2
Entertainment Weekly reveals that Tracker Season 2 will definitely see Ackles return, and it’s going to be for “more than one” episode. The exact number has yet to be confirmed, which isn’t surprising. It could depend on the writing and Ackles’s schedule, but it will also depend on how much Russell is needed for the storyline. This is still Colter’s story.
Melissa Roxburgh did say that she would love to return to the series as well. She would love to be in scenes with both Justin Hartley and Ackles, bringing the whole Shaw family back together.
Ackles is a busy man. He’s leading the new Amazon series Countdown, and he also likely to return for The Boys Season 5 in some sort of capacity based on words from Eric Kripke.
We’ll take what we can when it comes to Ackles back on our screens, especially teaming up with Hartley. The two were great together as the Shaw brothers, and it’ll be exciting to unpack more of that family history in Tracker Season 2.
