Law & Order is joining the podcast circle, but it's not with a rewatch one
The world of Law & Order continues to grow. There’s a new show coming, but this isn’t for the TV screens. The franchise is joining the world of podcasts.
There has been a string of podcasts lately. You will have seen the NCIS rewatch podcast with Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly. Buffy the Vampire Slayers have a rewatch podcast with Juliet Landau. Then there are all the fan ones as well.
However, Law & Order is doing things differently. Instead of getting into a rewatch vibe, the series is going to enter the true crime sphere. We’re getting stories about real crimes of the past, and the podcast is called Law & Order: Criminal Justice System.
If you do want a rewatch podcast, there was one that followed Law & Order: SVU called The Squadroom. It only lasted for 25 episodes, though.
What is Law & Order: Criminal Justice System about?
Deadline reports that the podcast will have 12 episodes per season. There are plans for four seasons of this podcast. It all starts on Thursday, Aug. 22.
Is has been executive produced by Elliot Wolf, who serves as EVP of Digital for Wolf Entertainment. iHeartPodcasts will distribute it.
The first season is hosted by Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi, a former Brooklyn homicide prosecutor. She will kick thinks off by heading back to 1979 to New York City. AT that time, the American Mafia was one of the most revered mafias in the country. Just how did the empire crumble? The series looks into how a team beat the odds, starting with Carmine Galante, the Bonanno crime family boss.
This would be the case that would bring an end to the Mafia as we knew it at the time. There are first-hand accounts of the investigations, surveillance, legal battles, and more.
