Law & Order: Organized Crime took a week off, which gave fans time to recover from a wild Episode 4. Stabler had been distracted by a big family dinner, which turned into chaos.

That distracted Stabler just as the rest of the team (including new cop Bashir) was defending a witness and her family from the criminal cartel gunning after them. Stabler managed to help them, but Bell was shot in the process. 

All that drama is coming to this new episode, which also has Stabler facing an unexpected ghost of the past.

"Missing Persons'' has Stabler getting a phone call about Rita, the young woman he saved from the Albanian mob back in Season 2. When he learns she's gone missing, Stabler goes on a personal mission to rescue her. 

It appears Stabler is dedicated to finding this missing woman, even if it risks his job.

Law & Order: Organized Crime 4x05 synopsis

The episode has Stabler hunting for Rita while the rest of the team faces questions on their conduct in the attack. There's also Stabler wrestling with the discovery brother Randall told IAB about their corrupt father and younger brother Joe holding a secret.

It's an intriguing return for an old minor character, as Stabler is picking a bad time to go rogue. The rest of the team are facing Internal Affairs for the messy attack and Joe's new job may play into the season more than it appears.

It looks like Stabler is once more a big focus as Law & Order: Organized Crime rolls along in Season 4. 

"A rescued victim from Stabler's past goes missing. Bell recovers in the hospital while Jet, Reyes and Bashir are all questioned by IAB. Joe Jr. shows off his new career path."

Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 airs Thursdays at 10/9c on NBC and streams the following day on Peacock.
