Just when Stabler thought he had wrapped up a case on Law & Order: Organized Crime, he stumbled onto a bigger mystery! See a preview for the last episode of February here!

The last Law & Order: Organized Crime episode had Stabler being suspended over his part in a shooting. Stabler was distracted when he learned Rita, the waitress he’d saved from the mob back in Season 2, had gone missing. While he intended to find her alone, Stabler got aid from the rest of the team.

Stabler’s quest led him to the sad discovery that not only was Rita dead, but there were four other bodies in the same area. Stabler thus realized he’d stumbled onto a serial killer and now wants some justice.

That sets up a powerful new episode that continues to push Stabler to a dark place.

Law & Order: Organized Crime 4x06 promo

The promo for “Beyond the Sea” puts Stabler on the hunt for this killer, and it’s obvious he’s driven to find justice for failing to save Rita. That appears to put Stabler against the local cops and having to save another victim.

The promo makes it seem this may be a quick wrap-up to this storyline and Stabler’s harsh tactics engaging in a battle of wits against a killer. Either way, moving the team against a serial killer is a daring idea.

Law & Order: Organized Crime 406 synopsis

The synopsis indicates that Stabler’s big problem is handling the small Nassau, New York, town. He had already gotten on the bad side of the local police chief, accusing her of aiding in a cover-up, which briefly landed him in jail. While she was able to help later, the locals aren’t happy about some NYC cop showing up to throw things off.

There are also plotlines such as Stabler still suspecting younger brother Joe’s job working for a wine merchant is a cover for something more sinister. Jet appears to be working with a witness, which can affect her already tricky mental state. Bell is still mending from a bullet wound, and the line that Stabler is blowing off Internal Affairs can risk his career more.

With the show ready to take a brief break, this seems a good way to leave off for a darker Law & Order: Organized Crime episode than usual.

"When several bodies are found in a seaside town, Stabler navigates the politics and secrets of the close-knit community to find a potential serial killer. Jet brings a witness under her protection. Tensions rise when Stabler skips his IAB meeting. "

Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 airs Thursdays at 10/9c on NBC and streams the following day on Peacock.
