In a new Law & Order: SVU, the SVU team has to handle an attack on their headquarters. Get a peek at it here!
After months of waiting, the Law & Order: SVU Season 25 premiere kicked off with the gang celebrating the christening of Rollins and Carisi’s son, with Olivia named the godmother. The party also had a brief tribute to former SVU cop John Munch (which also honored the recently passed Richard Belzer).
On the way home, Benson saw a teenage girl in a van. Benson was then rocked to learn that the girl had been abducted and was driven to find her. The search took a bizarre turn with the discovery the girl was the model for a lifelike doll used by various people for troubling purposes.
A search didn’t find the girl but did uncover another teen who’d been long missing. The press conference praising the SVU team was interrupted by the first girl’s mother, railing at Benson for failing to find her daughter, which troubled Benson.
During the case, Benson sought help from Rollins, who seemed eager (even calling it “our perp”), which had Benson suspecting Rollins missed being a cop. Both of those plots may be pushed aside as the newest episode has the SVU team handling a dark attack.

“Truth Embargo” indicates Benson is working on finding that missing teen. However, she’s distracted by a ripped-from-the-headlines case of a “flash mob robbery” crew that gets more intense.
"As Benson teams up with the FBI on an unsolved case, Fin and Velasco investigate a flash mob robbery that leads to a sexual assault."
Seeing the SVU squad room under attack by these thugs is jarring and makes the case very personal for the detectives. It’s also likely to touch on Benson searching for that missing teen, still pushed by the guilt of not saving her before.
These plots should make this episode another exciting one to continue building on a historic year for Law & Order: SVU.
Law & Order: SVU Season 25 airs Thursdays at 9/8c on NBC and streams on Peacock the following day.
