The new cop gets a tough break-in case in Law & Order: SVU Season 25, Episode 6 (Preview)
Law & Order: SVU’s newest addition is hitting the ground running with a tough case! See a preview for an exciting new episode!
The last Law & Order: SVU had Benson finally rescuing Maddie, the teenager she’d been searching for since the Season 25 premiere. It was a tough case that required the aid of FBI agent Shannah Sykes (Jordana Spiro), but Benson rescued Maddie and brought her abductor to justice.
In the aftermath, Sykes decided to be “loaned out” to the SVU team to help cope with her own sister’s long-ago abduction and murder. So it appears she’ll be getting her feet wet big-time with this new case.
Law & Order: SVU 25x06 promo
The promo for “Carousel” has Sykes a member of the SVU team, even though technically she’s still FBI. She gets a good look at what SVU does as they have to talk to a victim in the hospital who was drugged.
The promo hints at a dark case that goes from simply a couple of frat boys taking advantage of a woman to a nationwide ring of predators playing a twisted game. That makes it more of an FBI matter to make Sykes’ involvement critical.
Law & Order: SVU 25x06 synopsis
The synopsis identifies the woman as someone who was just traveling to a hostel only to be drugged and assaulted. The team thus have to dive into the investigation and the indication the victim may want to leave New York, which obviously will complicate the case.
With the Maddie case finally handled, Benson should hopefully be able to move on with her life and focus more on the current victims who need help. She can also welcome Sykes’ help and aid the woman in healing her own trauma of the past. With a new start for the season, this episode should get things going in a fun direction.
"The SVU must track down a mysterious suspect targeting tourists staying in hostels and race to identify one woman's attacker before she opts to go home."
Law & Order: SVU Season 25 airs Thursdays at 9/8c on NBC and streams the following day on Peacock.
