Things were definitely not looking great for Luca going into SWAT Season 7, Episode 6. What happened to him during the episode, and was this his last case?

Caution: This post contains spoilers for SWAT Season 7, Episode 6.

We had one concern going into SWAT Season 7, Episode 6. What would happen to Luca? The promo showed that this could end up being his last episode, with Luca possibly getting shot.

Nothing happened early in the episode like we expected. Instead, Luca was involved in an epic car chase in Black Betty as Hondo and the team dealt with the hunt for three escaped prisoners.

What happened to Luca in SWAT?

It wasn’t until the end of the episode that we found out what was going on. After an intense episode with a hunt for three female prisoners, Luca was also able to gain some composure in the way he shouted at Kelly when she almost caused an accident. He handed Kelly the keys again and allowed her to drive them both to dinner.

It was in the streets when everything happened. While in the street, masked men ran out of what looked like a bank or jewelry store. Luca immediately immediately jumped into action, but he was shot three times. Two times took him down and as he reached for the gun again, he was shot in what looked like the shoulder.

Kelly ran to him, but Luca wasn’t moving or talking. Things aren’t looking great for him.

And now we go into a break without knowing what’s going to happen to Luca. We have to wait until Friday, April 5. This is confirmed as Kenny Johnson’s last episode of the series, but is that going to be with Luca dying or just retiring after injury?

SWAT returns on Friday, April 5 at 8/7c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
